I didn't know my job was going to get signoff so quickly & signed up immediately (ie transfer from the temp agency to payroll, with the payroll start date being the day before I signed the letter).

woooo, it's January so I've bought my first book.  I'm being thrifty due to 2 weeks unpaid leave, so I went for
18th Century Costume in the National Museums and Galleries of Merseyside  and I can't wait for it to wing it's way around the world.

My book wishlist doesn't seem to be getting any shorter, because I keep finding more to add to it. Or in today's case a book I didn't think that I'd find in my price range, plus it's domestic post so it shouldn't take a couple of weeks to arrive.    I'll admit it was at the upper end of the range I'm prepared to pay for my monthly treat, but huzzah ( Read more... )

A month ago I pre-ordered my book for August - the V&A Fashion in Detail - Underwear and it's only a few weeks to wait. hurrah.

Today I got my grabby hands on Kirstin Olsen's Cooking with Jane Austen for under AU$40 including post from the states.  wahooo.  If I could find one locally, it'd be over AU$100, and they're hard to find.
